1/2 pound asparagus, washed and trimmed, woody stems discarded or reserved for another use

1 teaspoon butter

1 lemon

Salt

Asparagus with lemon

Serves 2.

Steam the asparagus for six minutes. Remove from steamer and sprinkle with salt to taste.

Using a Microplane, zest half the lemon, then cut the lemon in half.

Melt the butter in a sauté pan. Squeeze the juice of half the lemon into the butter and swirl to combine.

To serve, reheat the asparagus in the butter. Remove to a plate and sprinkle with the lemon zest.
